This is another in the series of nudes that I am doing. I loved the pose and the backlighting of the subject. I am pleased with the quality of the brushstrokes and the tranquil mood of this one.
I recently renovated my main bath. I wanted a serene spa like feel so I did this painting. It is a semi abstract interpretation of the surf from the beach we stayed on in a recent visit to Puerto Morales. This is my largest work to date and I am very pleased with the subtlety of colors and the calm feel. Just what I need!

SOLD***Peaches are my favorite fruit, here I painted them in acrylic. I am pleased with the strong blues against the oranges of the peaches.
Spring is almost here. A glorious time in Canada, when the new foliage is tender and brilliant in color. Here is a painting I did last year of our neighbor's tree which was glowing as the sun was coming up behind it.
SOLD I adore this cat, which makes me guilty as I have 3 cats but Punkin is the one we all rush to pet when we arrive home. Here he is mesmerized by the raindrops trickling down on the window.
Welcome to my blog, you will see some samples of my current work ~ fruit, flowers, landscape, nudes etc. I do have other work available so if you like my style, just email and I can send you images.
I have a degree in Design from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and have worked in the field of art direction for many years.
People are often envious of artists as they think we are free spirits, our schedules are our own. Not true. I have a boss....creativity. I do get frustrated with my boss and the challenges he presents me and his relentless need for me to improve and grow. Sometimes I sneak a mental health day. But then I am eager to get back to work.
Color excites me. Light inspires me. The endless possibilities that are available in creating art will forever be stimulating.
I like it when people see themselves in my art. Their memories, their inspirations.
